How many people play PC games with a game controller?

Xbox controller works great in many games on Windows 7, much as I love PC gaming it can be a faff and it's great to be able to plug in a decent controller and it just work.

I'm using it for Batman AA which I picked up in the Steam sale at Xmas and plays great, also worked flawlessly in Just Cause 2. I even use it for the old GTA games like Vice City but do have a few issues with the analog triggers not being recognised, believe there is a fix but not a big deal for me.

Is good when on-screen prompts/button presses all map correctly, not like back in the day with the shoddy ports from Capcom and the like where you'd still get PS2 controls appearing on screen and would have to guess the key.

But for anything first person like Skyrim it has to be keyboard and mouse for me.

Yup when it is appropriate (AssCreed, JC2, Batman, Other 3rd person games) or when I want to sit on my bed or big sofa and relax (skyrim, fallout etc).

Pretty much same here. Even looking at getting a long HDMI cable so I can link my PC to my TV (as I have a student room in a house) and just veg out infront of that on such games.

Most people say not to play BF3 with a controller on PC, but it is still really enjoyable, I seem to do better than I do with my keyboard

I enjoy a good twin stick shooter, Scoregasm, Renegade ops etc, so a pad is a must for those. I use a pad for as much as I can, but FPS, RTS, most rpg(i use the eggbox pad for the witcher 2) are all best handled with the mouse.

Sports games and action games, controller. RTS, FPS and basically anything that requires multiple actions to be performed quickly need a Keyboard and mouse.

Depends on the type of game, Racing games with controller. FPS then defiantly a mouse.
Things like batman/assassins creed can go either way, although normally controller these days.
