Following on from this thread - https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18730178
about do you miss your home town!

It got me thinking about the places I'd lived in. How big is your list?

Lets see everybodys timeline.
Place - time from and too


  1. Birth (1981) till 2002 - lived with parents (edge Wolverhampton)
  2. 2002-2003 - Walsall - shared a flat with a work mate, after she got kicked out by her dad - made sense to move with her, i wanted to leave parents and helped by splitting the bills
  3. 2003 - 2005 - Lived with my current mrs. in our first rented house in Walsall
  4. 2005-2008 - Lived with my current mrs. in our 2nd house with my mrs. Just outside of Wolverhampton
  5. 2008-2010 - Lived with my current mrs. in Stafford
  6. 2010-2011 - Lived with my current mrs. in First place in Newcastle under Lyme
  7. 2012-2013 - Lived with my current mrs. in Second place in Newcastle under Lyme
  8. 2014-2015 - Lived with my current mrs.in third place in Newcastle under Lyme
  9. Decemeber 2015 - ongoing - live with my current mrs. in current place in Newcastle under Lyme

I finally bought, last place on list is mortgaged house, all the previously apart from with parents was rented-, hence the moving.
 
1. Birth (1986) to 2003 lived with parents (Just outside of Doncaster)
2. 2003-2003 - RAF Halton Aylesbury
3. 2003-2004 - RAF St.Athan, near Barry south wales
4. 2004-2007 - RAF Lossiemouth, Moray north scotland
5. 2007-2007 - Huntly, Aberdeenshire (mrs folks, about 3 months)
6. 2007-2008 - Aberdeen City
7. 2008-2008 - Huntly again (mrs folks, another 3 month stint!)
8. 2008 to present in Aberdeen City.

So around 7-8 moves in 14 years since leaving home :D

2. 2014-2015 Pavlovsk Russia - Lived in a lovely flat near the biggest park in Europe
3. January 2015 - ongoing - Gloucester - own place
 
I've only lived in 6 homes (2 homes with parents, 2 homes while at uni, 2 homes with my wife) across 3 different towns. Out of those, only two did I live at for more than 3 years and thus feel any connection to.

Done a few smaller ones moving for work, etc. but the bigger ones:

1981-1984 Crewkerne, Somerset
1984-1992, 1992-2002 couple of different places in Somerset
2002-2006 in and around London
2006-present mostly back in Somerset
 
about 4 moves (from bentley, doncaster to a lords estate near tickhill to maltby) then I moved out to Sheffield during uni and lots of places here since but I don't think that counts?

Houses: about 10 different since birth
Towns: 3
 
1987-2005 - Saffron Walden, Essex
2006-2008 - Edinburgh
2008-2009 - Dalian, China
2009-2012 - Edinburgh again
2012 - Farnborough
2012 - present - Tainan, Taiwan

Though after I left Walden, my parents started moving around again, so spent a few months a year in either Cambridge or Vienna.

So 3 towns/cities all in Hampshire and 7 houses in my almost 35 years of existence. Did live in Sheffield for a few months in 2001 but that barely counts.

Was too young to remember Southampton really so Basingstoke is where I've spent most of my life. Still up there quite often as I have friends there and my parents still live there.
