How many points are you allowed?

I've had my license for around 4 months now and luckily no points yet. If you manage to get 6 points in the first two years, do they take away your license? Or is it after one year?

6 points within 2 years means you lose your licence. You're allowed 5 points but on getting your 6th, you lose it.
