How many pull-ups can you do?

I started at 8 some months ago but can now do 15 off the back of a wooden staircase, just using the fingers, kinda painful. I'm 85kg. Thinking about attaching some weight now perhaps after reading the thread. How much harder are muscle ups & one-arms?

I can only do the ones where you hang by one hand, wrap your other hand around the hanging hands wrist and do it that way.

I can do about ten of those.

I can only do a couple any other way.

Done 12 earlier tonight. My best would be around the 20 mark but I haven't seen the inside of a gym for a good while. Currently weigh a solid 107kg and want to drop down to 104kg. Should be able to squeeze out 15+ then.

I have problem with muscle up, seems like a tendon in my elbow clicks when I go I try to do a very low dip, gets really sore after one or 2 low dips :(

One arm chin/pull ups are very hard! You'd think they'd only be twice as hard as 2 arms but it's a crazy step up!

You are correct sir :), muscle ups are incredibly hard. I can do a lot of pullups but muscle ups require a great deal of explosive power and strength. They have defeated me :(

I've done muscle ups not for specific training, but for climbing up and over things - it's about momentum really more than anything else. When doing pull ups it's easy to get the chest to bar level, if you explode on the way up you can translate that into a muscle up.

Currently can't do muscle ups because my bar is in a doorway :D but as soon as I find a place then I'll give them a blast.
Only recently been able to do pull and chin ups again ;) but I'm getting back on track with 4-5 pull and 10 chins (Previous Post)
