Im trying to get my i7 overclock sorted again, using the latest version of intel burn test (ver 2.4), on the previous version there was a bug with 8 threads selected, so 16 had to be ran. Is it ok to select 8 in this latest build.
Ran ibt firstly on 8 threads selected, failed on the start of the 3rd test, selected 16 threads and let it run for 20 passes, max stress. Completed without errors.
Also left real temp i7 turbo 6.95 running to check for turbo throttling (which p6t dlx v2 boards are renowned for), thankfully throttling wasnt the case.
Yep, finally passing something, ibt seems to be a bit of a bugfest, ram currently running at 1547mhz 7-7-7-24 1T.
Think i will give 4.2 a run, but as ill need a bit of a jump in vcore temps will inevitably rise a fair bit, may have to do some rearranging of fans, put my 3 pwm fans (2 on cooler, 1 rear exhaust) as case intake/exhaust and use the 2 x 2000 rpm ones i have on the front at the minute on the TRUE. Those two fans were great at keeping my q6600 at 3.8ghz on 1.51vcore pretty cool.
