Well i have an 3800+x2 and wanting to push it an fair bit but also want it as an overclock i can use 24/7. Just now i have 1.5V in my cpu but was wondering how high is too high? i was thinking around 1.6V its on air cooling.

What would you say is an safe ammount?

1.55v depending on temps for air. 1.6v if you have a Scythe ninja cooling it well.

Generally absolute max for all 'normal' cooling is 1.65v, but really 1.6v for 24/7.

1.55v for air, 1.6v water and 1.7v phase in my view.

For a Dual Core I would say 1.55v max on air. Single Core 1.6v max. it all depends on load temps really. AMD's should never exeed 60c so if your overclock is reaching those temps then simply reduce the clock or buy phase.
