I'm going to be buying a new PSU soon before my Hiper blows my computer. I just need to know how many watts I should be going for? Would the Corsair 620 be aright for potentially a 4-core CPU and single R600 ?

Yeah it will be fine, but Corsair are bringing out a higher model very soon so may be worth holding on for that. Alternatively, a Seasonic M12 700w will cut the mustard as it'll be very similar to that, but is quite pricey...

Does anyone know how the Corsair is noise-wise? My Hiper is noisier than I expected (becomes noisy on load, and doesn't seem to go quiet until reboot), which is very annoying as I spent a lot of money and time silencing the wrong parts of my system :/

Btw I think you posted the wrong link in the above post?

For whatever it is worth Corsair have already demonstrated the 620w with a quad core Intel and SLi'd 8800 cards so quad core and an R600 ought to be absolutely fine.

I might be looking at the wrong part but I can't actually see anything that relates to PSU power other than obliquely e.g. there are specifications mentioned in signatures and people talking about vCore but nothing directly about what a computer requires. :)
