How many partitions can you put on a hard drive ?
I've doing a rig for a mate and wants his 2TB data drive split into 6 smaller partitions but for some reason I can't do it, been using Paragon Partition manager and will only let me do 4 and a lump of unallocated space that it won't do anything with it.
Never had to do more than 4 before so it's why I'm asking :D

You can only have upto 4 primary partitions on a drive. Hence why youy have probably hit that barrier!

What you will want to do is have 3 primary partitions, then an extended partition.
Within the extended partition you can then have a set of logical drives, which the max is 24. (C: to Z: )

Great cheers, I thought this was the case just wanted to make sure. ;)

It depends on the partition table - 4 sounds right for MBR.

Try making an extended partition instead of one of the primary partitions, and filling it with 3 logical partitions.

Thanks done that, one question tho why aren't they showing up in My Computer ? Have I missed something ? sorry for being so stupid i'm on new drugs and they addle my brain :D
