I have 87 in Vista x64.
I'm interested to see which services you have enabled. Also, with the others, do you have some set to Manual startup ?I will post a list of what is enabled later
So is it bad to have a lot of processes?
I was watching a technet video on vista performance, and they were all laughing about people disabling services thinking it speeds up their pcs...

well it does to a certain degree, but many of the windows ones improve performance
No it's not bad on Vista, it makes little difference at all since those default processes are not consuming any measurable CPU time so disabling them at most will free up a few MB of RAM and nothing more.
It's bundled software like Norton and the like which does use up resources however.
None of them will improve performance.
