Hey, i recently upgraded my pc and as i always do when i upgrade i threw most the old bits into my parents PC to give theirs a small boost. This time i think the bits i threw it have added a little bit too much heat to the case.
The spec is a Intel E6850 CPU with stock cooler, Gforce 8800 Ultra, 4gb ram, a couple of 7200 hdds and its all running from her old OCZ powerstream 6-700w cant remember.
Atm the case has only 1 80mm fan intake and an 80mm out, which leaves the CPU idle at 55 degs
, as soon as i take the side off the case it drops to 25 degs so obviously i have a big airflow problem.
I have dozens of fans in my cupboard i can stick in there, so what do ya think it will need to keep it cool? Im just gonna cut the holes needed so i was thinking somewhere along the lines of a 120mm in the bottom of the case and one in the side panel both intake, and a 120mm exhaust in the top?
The PSU and the GPU are blasting loads of air out so i figure it just needs more getting in really.
Since its mothers day i might even treat them to some new fans
