no matter how good it was, I would never pay that much.Gilly said:£6? :/
I'll pay whatever the food is worth. If its worth 50p I begrudge paying a quid, if its worth £100 for a 3 course meal then its been fantastic and I don't mind paying it.
its impossible for my brain to work like thatWilliam said:Eating out.... I never have a budget, you are out for a meal, you have what the hell you want, enjoy your self, stagger home drunk. Think about the cost later.
yeah, how come in really good "gourmet" posh food the portions are tiny, like a piece of cheesecake is the size of a deck of cards but has all this fancy stuff all over it.Rich_L said:Hmm tricky one.
At present I wouldn't pay, say, over £50 for 3 courses of food as I simply don't think it'd be worth it, IMO there's a limit to how nice food gets before the portions start going down and although it's nice you end up wanting a burger afterwards!
In most places in London you sometimes struggle to get a starter for £6, let alone a main course!![]()

Nice meals don't usually come for under £10 nowadays!
What can you get for £6?!McDonalds isn;t much less than that is it?!
actually tbh I have never really gone "out" for a meal in a restaurant in a long time in the UK, the most recent event was my dad's b'day which was an indian buffet place in sheffield that was 9 pounds per head.Lopéz said:Depends on where it is, when it is.... so many factors.
But really, £6? SIX POUNDS? Just about gets you a Weatherspoons "burger and chips" type meal..... £6 is barely more than a Burger King. Your average kebab is £4, a Subway is not much less. A sarnie from a garage will be about £2.50. So £6 isn't going to buy you very much even if you bought the ingredients and cooked them yourself.
Of course, abroad matters are different. An average main course in Slovakia was £3.50 ish, in Poland £4-£5. Rhodes about £5-£7. Of course you could spend lots more by having steak or seafood.
