How much better is a 710 than onbaord Skylake graphics?

will a low profile 710 offer much improvement over onbaord Intel graphics from an i3 skylake?

It's not for gaming, just office and web stuff, dual monitor setup

A 710 would be much slower than Intel HD Graphics 530.

Integrated is between a GT 730 and 740.

If you need multiple outputs though you might have no choice.

Ouch, so it would actually be detrimental to put a 710 in a build with a 6100 CPU? Better to just use mobo?

gaming starts at X50 for both vendors 350/950, anything under is considered multimedia, and mostly comes with gddr3

Yep.

Especially as support for hardware decoding etc. will be superior.

But as I said if the motherboard only has one graphics output you might need it just for the second monitor.

OK thanks, I've spent an extra £5 on the mobo so it has HDMI also and will bin the 710. (its for an office PC not gaming but I want dual monitors).
