How much did your E6300 overclock to?

My E6300 doesnt wanna do any more than 360 fsb, which gives me just over 2.5ghz, which is ok i guess, but was wondering what you guys got.

I'm using P5W DH, E6300 and Geil 6400 Cas4 RAM and cooling with the tuniq tower with idle temp of about 22 degrees, load temp 27-30

Thanks

yeah i did, i can go as high as 410 but the mem timing really suffers (5-6-6-18 by SPD), if i turn off SPD, its either stable at 360 with 1.375 volts, or 370 with 1.45, i figured that the extra 10 mhz isnt worth it.

I think it might be the northbridge, if i get a free week end i think i might take it all out and put some AS5 on it or something.

I can't get past 2.1Ghz - it runs far too hot :(

I'm considering lapping the Arctic Freezer 7, and if that doesn't work, then I'll do the processor.

[here's my other thread if you got time to have a look and help me out rather than me start asking questions in this one!]

I'm on 2.8 at stock volts with an Abit AB9 and OCZ Gold ddr2 667mhz (at 800mhz). I am limited by my ram and by the time I got to 3.1ghz the mobo would be limiting me.

Had to drop mine to 3GHz and 1.3V got a error in orthos with 3.3Ghz :(. Should go easy on the ram as i think its limiting me a lot.

wow thouse are good temps, i am running my idle @44 and load temp around 55degrees, cpu @ stock +stock intel cooler, i think i need to get something better, well definiteley if i will try to OC it :/

First whats the FPO/Batch # of your CPU. (Should give us an idea of how far it should clock)

Secondly, make sure you have hyperpath 3 disabled. Also you'll need to run SPD timings above ~ 380 FSB as there's some issue or other with P5W. Supposdly this only affects certain ram (Geil being one). One workaround is to set manual timings @ ~ 350 FSB in bios, boot to windows then clockgen up the FSB (was mention of needing to set tRFC @ 42 in memset too, but don't see what this achieves).
From what you've said re CPU voltage though it *may* just be a case that you have a REALLY crap clocking CPU. :(

Thirdly, 600 FSB (pi 1m stable), 557 FSB Orthos stable

6300 at 3.4 (FSB 486). Vcore 1.272 idle, 1.24 full load. RAM 1:1 at 4-4-4-8 (Crucial 10th Anniversary) Temps: 35 idle, 55ish full load in Orthos (Intel TAT measured).

Its 100% Orthos stable and I could push it a lot further but don't see the point at the moment. These things fly!

wouldn't trust those temps one bit, that might be a source of problems for you if they're being reported incorrectly. I have high end water and according to intel TAT which I believe is the most accurate, I'm nowhere near either of those temps.

The load temp especially is complete nonsense IMO.
