How much difference between 667 and 800 memory?

Hey all,
Just slapped in a quad core and got it up to 3.0 ghz (which is an achievement on the crummy p5n-e mobo I'm using).

But, I cant use my ram at 800. It just wont boot.

If I run the ram at 667 (the only speed it seems to work at, it comes on okay).

How much performance am I losing due to this?

oo thats surprising, u learn somethign new every day, so is it the physical ammoutn of memory then or a combination of things?..

The benefit of running faster than 1:1 is pretty small, especially if you can run with tight timings at 1:1 (and even more so if it enables you to run at 1N/1T).

I know the feeling - but later BIOS enable most 4 x 1GB sticks to boot at 800. What version are you on ? But anyway, it's not worth worrying about. 2T though for 4 sticks. You must only have 2 ?

had to drop down to 2gb of 667mhz memory due to 3 of my 800mhz team modules failing, havent noticed much difference in general use.
