Just a question to satisfy my own curiosity really...
I currently have an Asrock Dual-VSTA board with a 256mb X1950XT in it, but arriving tomorrow (fingers crossed) will be an Abit AW9D-MAX and 2Gb of Geil DDRII ram (upgraded at last!!
).
So anyway, the Asrock's PCIe slot is PCIe 4x, while the Abit's is 16x... will this make any difference to my gfx card performance, or is the extra bandwidth not actually used at the moment anyway (by this card or any other)?
I remember reading a while back that AGP 8x wasn't fully utilised by the cards at the time and that PCIe wasn't going to make a huge difference to gfx cards, which is why i'm wondering about the PCIe 4x/16x performance benefits...
