how much disk space does Vista system drive require ?

About to installed Vista Ultimate 64 bit and was wondering how much disk space it needs, 10gb too small so need to repartition my hdd.

20 enough ??

I think 15 was the minimum.

Btw I'm thinking of installing vista like this as well. What partition software would you guys recommend?

not on my vista machine at the moment - but Vista takes up about 9.5GB IIRC, so it depends what else you're going to put on the Partition. Personally, I put storage data on another drive and Programs/Windows on the same drive. So I'd have Music, Movies, Videos, Photos on one drive, then Games, Programs, Windows on another. I wouldn't want my Vista drive to be any less than 30GB.

Vlite cuts out loads of blotware and reduces the install disk to 700mb!

Cool, I didn't realise there was a vista version of the *Lite software. Will have to look into that

i use Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.. it works with vista and it also includes Acronis OS Selector...
