I sold my MSI 3080 6 months ago because i didnt like the LED I bought it for £899 and sold it for £999

I then bought a Evga 3080, had that for nearly a year, again I bought it for £899 but sold it today for £1500

When I spoke to the purchasers who were miners, the 1st claimed to make £20 a day from one card.

Todays miner who bought the Evga said he makes £3-£4 a day and that his 6 card rig of 3080 nets him £20 a day

Im not sure what to believe, i thought £20 a day is far to good to be true, £4 is to low considering power bills.

or maybe they do it for the coins to sell later, he said he mines Euthruem, he said that soon they wont be mined and that all the 3080s will drop in price, basically going back to MSRP

unless they think of something else to mine?

Now ive got £1500 to purchase a 3080ti, happy days.

The first 1 is telling you complete and utter lies... having mined myself i can say you won't make £20 a day on 1 card .

At this point it feels like he wouldn't make his money to cover card depreciation. Guess he hopes there will always be another coin to mine.

I've made 5£ a day but stopped at £80 profit. Lol.

First guy definitely got his revenue wrong.

how old is that nicehash image?
I just ran it again and it says £4.41 as of now, and that's even with your inflated 16p per kw
by the time you factor in that you get more by mining directly not with nicehash, a 3080 uses about 20-30w less than that calculator says and my leccy is 14p/kw, I'm making £2 a day per card on 1060's, so a 3080 must be making closer to £7 profit per day at the mo.

Count yourself lucky to be on 14p/kW. 16p/kW is not inflated IMO, based on current market. TBH I'd bite arm off supplier to be on.

I was on 14p/kW, supplier went bust, Octopus doing me at 20p/kW :(. Just doing a month with them, as my account with Avro was in credit. Best I can hope for AFAIK is 18p/kW.

Not a miner, was just reading thread and wanted to state current elec prices....

There was a point earlier in the year when £20 a day per card was a thing, i had 2 3090's running and was getting £50 a day, it didnt last for more than a week though.

Using a 3080 FE earlier this year I made £680 over about 3 months.

I think profit has gone down now + our leccy is shooting up, and for me I have a LHR card now, so it's probably not that worth it anymore.

As of right now you will earn £5.37 before electric cost or £4.58 after 0.20pkwh electric cost on a 3080 non LHR card per day if mining Ethereum directly. The 1st guy is talking absolute rubbish and would require a lot more than a single card to earn £20 per day , for £20 a day you would need something like 1 x 3090, 2 x 3080 , 1 x 3060Ti which would net around £20 give or take .

If it was 6 months ago it was entirely possible to be getting £20 a day on a 3080 for a time though.

Yeah i remember around 13th May this year earnings were through the roof for a short period but unfortunately that didn't last that long and was back to normal a few days later , since then difficulty has just been going up and up ... Luckily the price of ETH is also shooting up although its all taken a bit of a **** this morning but such is the world of crypto

Just had a quote for energy valid for BN post code and todays date:

About your electricity tariff
Supplier
E.ONnext
Tariff name Next 2 Year v10
Tariff type 24-month fixed-term
Payment method Direct Debit
Unit rate 29.58p per kWh
Standing charge 35.09p per day

About your gas tariff
Supplier
E.ONnext
Tariff name Next 2 Year v10
Tariff type 24-month fixed-term
Payment method Direct Debit
Unit rate 7.04p per kWh
Standing charge 37.17p per day

14p kwh is not possible for new tarrifs now.

yeah that's crazy pricing , currently with Scottish Power and its 21p KWH, and that's on a new tariff started last month . I am in London but surely that shouldn't make a difference although petrol is all different cost around the country so maybe it does  Maybe do a few quotes on comparison websites see if something cheaper comes up .

i feel sorry for people on variable or people looking for new tariffs. I was lucky to renew before the electricity prices shot up so mine is fixed till 2023 at 16p kwh

Jesus christ that tarrif is insane, we're paying about 18p per KWh with octopus.

Octopus wont quote me (they did back end of September )

were with EDF, changed tariff in june for a 2 year fix, at 20p kwh. Expensive at the time, now impossible to get. Check your end dates of your current deals :(

wow, thats a decent app

so apparently if eutherium is 4k a coin it will shoot up to £8000 by early next year, do you think that is true?

Also i think the GPU issues we are having is caused by miners all around the world, soley miners, there this guy who work for Qatar airways, he is a pilot and he lives in a bills paid apartment, he has 120 cards in his place, literally all space is taken by his mining rigs.

If you can source the cards then you will make far more flipping them than you would get from mining. You can even buy the cryptocurrencies with the proceeds if you really want to.

If my leccy goes up to 20+ I'm going to have to really think about energy saving
