how much do you charge or would you pay ??

Was wondering how much people charge to Place an advert on a website say somthing like a 397x100 banner type affair? for say 3 months or somthing

I know this may be like how long is a piece of string but a rough sort of idea would be good

The main detail when advertising on a website is how much traffic does it get, and even better, what percentage of those click the adverts.

If you can provide those we could give you a better idea.

Both really - do you had software like Google Analytics installed on the site in question?

You're trying to get a rough idea how much potential traffic your site will drive to the affiliate from your banner.

If you've been tracking visitor sources to your site and things like what keywords they have been using to find your site you can use things like when setting your price.

E.g. say you have a banner going to a pants site. If you know you're getting say 10k unique hits per day from users who searched for the term 'pants' to reach your site then this would be a factor pricing.

Things like Google Analytics are made for this - have a read about goals in Google Analytics in particular.
