how much do you pay virginmedia ?

well my parents do shame they make me pay for everything myself had to get a job to fund pc habbit :D

well the virgin people are coming december 4th just ordered it great having parents with no clue bout IT they just let me handle everything.

cant wait for 100mb broadband :D and just found out bt are testing 110mb fttp down my road might try get on that as well see if i can get the two bonded.
 
Virgin internet is now a joke, throttled no matter what your connection when using usenet or torrents to 25% of your speed until midnight. If you use anything else you get throttled to 25% once you hit about 2-3gig (unless you on xxl).
Everyone may just as well downgrade to 10MB and wait for a day for your downloads rather than have them within minutes of wanting them.

Oh and i only download linux iso's ;)
 
Hi guys, just had a good read through this thread and keep seeing the 'loyalty bonus' phrase buzzed about. Ive been with virgin/NTL for at least 12 years and never had such a thing. Should i phone and try to haggle a deal? If so anyone got any handy tips?

Some others prices are very good too, but i called to get my tivo and xxl the other day and they wouldnt budge on this price... called twice too and got different people different days!
 
Phoned Virgin up today. Managed to get my package down from £62 to £59. But they've added 600 mins to mobiles for a tenner plus tivo box, plus box in another room. Glad i called now :)
 
It's always worth phoning them up for a deal. I think I managed to get quite a good deal today. Or at least it was better than the deal I was getting.

For those with a V+HD box.....do you think they are noisy?
I've had one in my bedroom for 3 weeks now. I always put it on standby when i go to sleep. It takes about another 5 mins for the fans to stop. Then every flippin night at around 3am the fans kick in, and every flippin night, they wake me up. (possibly doing a service/tv guide update?)
Last night the fans stayed on all night, and i got very little sleep.
I'm an average sleeper, not too light, not too heavy, but this thing is far too loud for comfort. Gonna call VM about it. Anyone else having similar experience?

Slightly off-topic, but if they're all this loud it may put some people off VM.

I'd never noticed the V+ HD box fans/noise, until we had Tivo fitted and the V+ HD box subsequently moved to another room......it is now in the kids room and each night when I check them before I go to bed I can hear the fans whirring away.....doesn't wake them up/bother them, mind
 
Hi i know this is an old thread but sure some of you are still on Virgin Broadband?

Can anyone confirm how much they are paying for 30MB connection as it was £17.50 a month for 3 months then went up to £22.50 a month on the 4th month then i got an email saying that there was a price rise and now paying £23.65 but can see that on their site it still says £22.50?
 
I'm paying ~£33 for 100mbps internet + talk evenings and weekends.

Minimum 12 months contract, which unfortunately I'm breaking as I'm moving house into a non-VM cabled area.
