Inspired by the MSE poll I thought it would be interesting to see how much the forum spends on Xmas.

As a bonus.. Epeen is available here

I'm guessing there's gonna be a lot who spend not much at all and loads who spend hardly anything.
I've included the MSE poll

This includes everything. From food to travel to Presents.

For me it's 200-300 with travel costs being the biggest

We're in the £1000+ mark,

It's actually ludicrous how much we spend, but things have to be done a certain way and we've got to feed a load of people I don't actually like etc etc
It really grinds me this having to do x, y, D at Xmas. I have the same but it's time not cash. Leave house on 24th then it's driving (nearly every day) ticking people off the "to see" list until get back on 28th/29th. Only had one Xmas at home. Covid year

It depends really as my daughter has had her Christmas and Birthday together with a new car, lessons and insurance. That is close to 6 grand but that is an exception. My son is barely a couple of hundred and my missus and I get each other nothing really bar the odd token gesture.

My Christmas present is having a week off over the festive period which is a first for me in ten years.

Including travel? Well it's over £1k easy this year then.

E: Presents, very little on friends/family - seeing each other is enough. Biggest expense was the OH buying toys for the charity collections for kids who'd otherwise get nothing.

Definitely £1000+, though the bulk is the kids' presents.

Excluding our kids' presents, it would probably be £500 ish. Christmas dinner itself, including drinks, is probably £100 of that. A tree is £60.

for Christmas day or the whole of the Christmas period?

It's hard to say, as if Christmas didn't exist at all.. I wouldn't have to spend cash on the extra fuel I need to visit family members, all the extra clothes, bottles of wine, pint of beers at the pub.

on gifts alone, I only live near my brother, so I brought my great nephews handheld retro consoles, my great neices massive hello kitty teddies and hello kitty hair brushes.. I had to buy two lots of gift bags as I forgot how big the teddies were.. I got my brother a car phone holder and will be giving him and my sister in law cash. I've not had time to buy them or my nephews/nieces and their partners anything else this year. I normally supply the alcohol and cakes for Christmas day, as it's only really me and my brother that drinks.
