How much does speed matter?

I have 32GB of 3200MHZ cas 16 memory arranged in 4x 8gb sticks. Have two sticks of Crucial ballistix and two sticks of Corsair vengence.

Am seeing some decent deals for memory about but i'm wondering if it's really worth it to upgrade to a couple of 16gb sticks of 3600 or 4000mhz memory for gaming, or whether i would barely notice.

It depends on what you are doing. I found that for most of what I use more ram mattered more then the speed going from 16gb to 32gb made a bigger difference then speed. I would be surprised with going from 3200 to 4000 was more then 3 or 5 fps bar a few exceptions.

You would barely notice. Don't spend the money. Put it towards a better CPU or GPU instead.

Are you games CPU or GPU limited? Meaning, is your GPU at 100% usage with the games you are playing? If yes, then ram will make absolutely no difference. On the other hand, if the CPU is the one limiting your performance, you can see gains - easily - of up to 40-50% with highly binned and tuned bdie kits. Of course most AAA games are primarily GPU bound, so if you are playing those it's pointless

Another thing is consider is if your cpu is even capable a running a 2000mhz fclk. Unless theres a particularly good deal to be had or the games you play are cpu bound then I would stick with the ram you have. You could try tightening the times if you want to squeeze out a little extra performance.
