Did you ensure alignment/TRIM were correct? My Microserver's use the same generation of CPU, but I know shoving an SSD in an old non TRIM supporting laptop didn't end well. It bogged down to slower than the HDD it replaced. Over the years TRIM has become less of an issue as OEM's implemented similar solutions in firmware etc. but still check.
