As per title, is it worth upgrading to a RX480 from my SLI 680?

My gpu's are showing its age abit with mafia 3.

I think in some games you'll see a nice performance boost, where as others will be show them running quite a bit closer. As above, it would be best if you can try and aim a tad higher, but if not, as long as it works out a cheap enough move then why not. At least you won't have to rely on multi-gpu scaling. :)

I went from SLI 680 Lightnings OC'd to 1330Mhz core to a 290X (comparable to the 480) and I noticed a drop in performance in most of the games I was playing at the time due to SLI scaling wonderfully. Not enough to want to change back but I did notice.

In games where SLI is implimented badly, the 290 trounces the 680s but when SLI scaling works great, the 680s are the faster option. However, personally I'd advise on a single card if you're going to upgrade and it would need to be a faster card. The 1070 is the better option but nearly double the price of the 480.

Are you sure SLI is working how it should be?. Then again, 2gb vRAM limit on the 680s might be a factor also.

I upgraded from 670's in SLI to a single 970 and it was an upgrade.

So a single 480 would also be an upgrade.

1070 would be better but if your on a budget a 1060/480 will be an upgrade.

Wouldn't bother with that move personally - if you are going to spend money upgrading go for a 1070 atleast.

EDIT: Oh from what I remember Mafia 3 runs like **** on just about any GPU setup.

This.

Mafia 3 is an awful port, don't buy anything with a view to making this good.
