how much faster is G92 8800gts over the old one

sorry only the first line was visible . i think fps is in the eye of the beholder everyone will have there own opinion .

I do not think many peeps will agree that 15FPS would be playable in a fast FPS game, the rule of thumb seems to be 30FPS Min, ideally 45FPS and the Golden Goal of 60FPS.

It varies from game to game, Crysis at 25-30fps feels smooth however UT3/COD4/GoW at that fps seems completely unplayable if you ask me.

Indeed, been playing the UT series since '99 and I've always found you really need 45fps min to get the "fluid motion" of the game

RE: FPS particularly with oblivion...

There isn't a standard frame rate for the whole game.

Currently I get about 38 around town and in "dungeons". Obviously that's great. I like all the eye candy and tend to have too much turned on ( ie all of it :) ). When I'm running through the wilds FPS can drop a lot. Unless in a really busy fight it is still playable for me at around 15 fps.

On my older card I allowed it to drop as low as 5-10 fps but it was pretty dire.
