Hi all!
Watercooling isn’t new to me, I am confident with about what I am to undertake though I haven’t touched WC in many, many moons – my last kit being a coolermaster aquagate probably - This will be my first time creating what i class a proper WC build.

I have bought a Lian Li v1000 Koolance chassis with a roof mounted 120mm x 480mm Rad.

I have sourced my waterblock and I have a koolance bayres/pump and relevant fittings.

The pipework is going to be quite long as the motherboard is essentially upside down in this case, meaning the CPU is going to be located near the bottom of the board/chassis.

Question 1 – With 10/13 tubing and my components can I estimate how much fluid I am going to have to order up? (I don’t want to order 1L, then find its not enough)

Ideally, I would like to install a drain plug near the bottom of my system. What fittings can you recommend for me to do this?

I'm at work right now, so it would have to be later.
TBH that's a simplified solution.
My full one is:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Aqua Computer Ball Valve Female Thread G 1/4 without Fittings £5.99
1 x XSPC G1/4" 90° Rotary Fitting (Black Chrome) £4.49
1 x XSPC G1/4" T Fitting (Black Chrome) £3.95
2 x XSPC G1/4" 5mm Male to Male Fitting (Black Chrome) £1.79 (£3.58)
1 x XSPC G1/4" Plug (Black Chrome) £1.55
Total : £21.83 (includes shipping : £1.90).

I have the tubing come in the top of the T and the T into the pump,
the bottom of the T has the 90 degree rotary and the ball valve.
the ball valve has a stopper en the end as for the money, I'd rather have than not have it there.
Code:

            |_______|

send me a pic tonight, would be appreciated if you could :)

Anyone? would 1L be enough for my loop?

out of interest do you guys have the pump switched on when draining your loop? so that it pushes all the water out of the system

TBH I'd say 2 could never hurt, means you have extra for spillage and top-ups along the way.

@Sarah No, if the pump's on while draining then the pump is at risk of running dry and that can really damage the pump

I just open the loop at the reservoir/pump area and let it drain out on its own.

Just buy a canister of distilled water for coolant - cheap as chips. 5L, £3, done.

Here's an image of mine, if that helps:

The bottom outlet on the rad is the return to the res/pump and I have a T connector with some tubing and a valve for draining my loop.

for a drain a T fitting barb and a plug will work fine.#

also test/flush your system out with deionized water. no point flushing it out with tap water that will make other problem in the future.
