Need everything. Keyboard, mouse, case, os, monitor.

I haven't build a pc since an i5 sandybridge back in 2011 or so.

Has anything changed? I've looked on YouTube a seems the same apart from the hard drive mounting to the mobo.

Not bothered about lighting. Seems to be a cluster mess of wires. If the case comes with it fine. But I'm not going on the way.

Just want to play starcraft 2s last expansion pack and cs2. Plus all the games I have on steam (2003-2013 era)

Budget is about 1500 if that's possible

Looks good but I'm not buying till middle of next month.

Guess I'll need a disc drive to.

Thought Windows would be on USB by now

You can get a download copy of windows from the manufacturer. Also, other popular online retailers also sell much cheaper activation keys that work just as well.

You might want to look into the RX 7700 and 7800 that were announced recently, I think you'll be able to buy one by then and depending on the price, it could be a better option.

Don't think you need to spend anywhere near £1,500 or have a high spec for the games you listed in the OP? Why not look at buying used/refurb save a ton of cash and help offset some e-waste, just get a flashy new monitor and peripherals. :)

I use to pc game quite a bit so I can see my self playing some modern games too.

So you suggested 2 nvme drives. Do I need heat sinks?

What was you thinking? Raid0 them (is raid still a thing?) Create like a 50 gig partition for windows and apps have another for games?

Nope.

"Thermals, on the other hand, were impressive. Thanks to a highly energy-efficient controller design, there is no thermal throttling, not even in our worst-case thermal stress test, which hammers the drive with incoming writes non-stop. This is good news for users of mini PCs or laptops with limited cooling capability—no heatsink required."

I wasn't thinking anything. It was just a convenient way to get 2TB storage in the budget.

OS on one, games on other.
Get an external usb drive or two for back ups, copy photos to web hosting, private GitHub or other repo for important documents and of course code.
if you have lots of important and perhaps fast changing stuff then consider raid on a NAS. Hot swappable drives and plan on changing one out after 2 or 3 years depending on your level of paranoia and need.
