How much for a new i7 build?

o im tempted to sell up my current built and go for a shiny new i7 build.

I just hit the ocuk store and threw some decent parts together and subtotal was a shave over a grand?

Seems a little steap to me, so was wondering what kind of better value i7 build you can do?

Any advice on a 5-800 build? Dont need anythign other than base unit, 100% gaming machine
 
Assuming you are not going to salvage anything from your current build, I think the lowest you can get away with is about £800. There's no way you'll get a full i7 build for £500 - CPU, RAM & Mobo pretty much gobble up 500 notes. I suppose if you buy 2nd hand you might be able to do it.

For £500-800 build you're best looking for an i5 750 based build. Something like this:
