How much for R32

Thats not how it works at all. Here is a reply from haldextraction regarding there system to a guy called MarkR from audi-sport.com and this is about the older system that has a larger slip margin than the gen 2 system.
I don't think what I said is so completely incompatible with what "MarkR" has stated to say "thats not how it works at all"!

I only regurgated the marketing. I'm not a Haldex expert! :p

OK thats cool. You did state it was fwd in normal conditions and that isnt correct. Lots of people seem to think slip is wheelspin and it isn't. :D

I'm sure I heard somewhere that Porsche were looking at using a Haldex system on future AWD 911s.
Bugatti put it in the Veyron, so I can't see why not. Let's just hope there is plenty of front wheel slip though, otherwise you could end up with one weird power and weight distribution :p

Where I'm ill at home I've also started to look at the A3 3.2 Quattro. Yes it's not as nice to look at, but by the looks of things more car for your money.

I'm still a fan of the S3, but it's too close to what I've got already (minus the 4WD) and I'm hunting for that V6 4WD motor.

Sorry but I find this a totally reasonable attitude on the dealer's part.

On a car such as the R32 I'd imagine the dealers get all sorts of ****** trying it on and just wanting a free drive of the car. If I were in their shoes I'd also be asking a few questions before letting people have a test drive, particularly guys in their 20s.

Seeing as ive been taking the g/fs car there for the last 3 years, the majority of the staff know me and i had been for a test drive in a new GTi about 2 weeks before. Had i of been dressed as a '*****' and was unknown to the dealership then i would understand it, but as a well dressed and polite regular i would have expected a better attitude towards myself.

It is of no importance to some 18 year old trainee car salesman how much i earn, if i couldnt afford the car i wouldnt of gone for it. I would never hand over a pay slip/bank statement to someone i didnt know.

Fair enough but you didn't include that detail previously so I wasn't to know that you were known to them :)

Maybe that's the case for you but, generally speaking, they have to guard against tyre-kickers who just want a free test drive and have no intention of purchasing. With the R32, there will be quite a few of these, I'd imagine.

Going to leave this R32 for the moment I think. V :( but I'm going to look at the Audi S Line range later in the year. A3 3.2 S line with DSG :D

It's officially on the forcourt now at £14995 which is more realistic. mmm v tempted again now...

I heard an R32 burble past me the other day, and it did sound fantastic. They're holding their prices very very well too, considering a Mk5 GTi's are going for the same money...

NA V6 > 4cly Turbo IMO ;)

Still, I'd rather have a 147GTA myself.... :p

I'm going to test drive it tomorrow. I had changed my mind and thought keep the cupra, but with that intial drop I'm like.. Yes please :) I've just added £10k to my salary with a job change and I start on Thursday :D

I wanted a GTA orginally, but it's not suppose to handle as near as well and I'm after the 4Wd action etc. for the pure comfort of a V6 and grip!

They are 4wd all the time.

are you talking about the golf now? or the REAL r32 stoned is talking about, the skyline obviously ;) The skyline is rwd normally then when it slips it sends torque to the front, about 25% iirc.

And the r32 seems to be the same if you read up^^^

Yeah, the R32 is a much better drive than the GTA. Probably wont break as much either!

But as JC said, there's just something about Alfa's....

Well I went back to the dealer and yes it was up £14995, but someone priced it wrong in the car. It's been corrected and it's up for £16,495.. No thanks, as much as I'd love it not at that price. Plus it's standard spec, so no leather, sat nav etc etc.

Going to keep my cupra and go from there :( So got a £600 60k service coming at the end of the month. Cambelt, water pump and discs :(

They haven't put pics up yet - http://www.seat.net.r66.co.uk/Search/car_view.aspx?carId=501399135

I said no thanks, but he still offered me a test drive, I didn't take it as I'm not one for messing people round.
