How much has your system depreciated? :D

My current system cost me £857 18 months ago (when VAT was 15%), not including my monitor (end-of-life, no idea what nearest equivalent would be) or PSU (can't remember where I bought it from or what price I paid).

Taking a quick look at the components on OcUK, I reckon it'd cost about £755 today if I replace stuff that isn't sold by OcUK any more with their nearest equivalents (e.g. i7 930 for i7 920). I'm very pleased with only a £100 depreciation after 18 months to be honest, even though it's be another ~£25 without the VAT difference! The worst offender was the motherboard (P6T Deluxe V2 was ~£220, P6T Deluxe is now £110) but the CPU price has risen by about £5 and the RAM has gone up £44 (60%) to balance that a bit.

So what about your system? Is it still worth what it once was or would you now be lucky to sell it for a bunch of bananas?

The same £400 on CPU/Mobo/RAM/HDD six months ago would cost me £340 today with identical components. Approx 15% depreciation or maybe 25-30% per annum.

I don't buy complete systems and some of what I buy is second user i.e. case. I buy quality for components I intend to use for a long time i.e. PSU
