How much is my 5200 DDR5 slowing me down?

I've been using a set of Corsair Dominator 32GB DDR5 5200 (2x16) CL40 for the past year after moving to AM5 and a 78003dx. Solid RAM, very stable, I've never overclocked them. Model# CMK32GX5M2B5200C40

I'm primarily gaming on this machine with a bit of productivity e.g. Excel and a small Neo4j setup (my LLM work I do non local). How much is this memory slowing me down compared to, for example, a set of 6000 with same timings? Worth overclocking these?

My whole set up is as such:

78003xd (9800x3d arriving imminently)
Corsair Dominator 32GB 5200 40CL
Asus TUF WiFi b650 plus
WD BLACK SN850XE NVME 4TB
Zotac 5090
Asus ROG Strix 1200w

On a side note, I paid £79 for this kit last year, and find it hilarious what these are going for now. AI and infra firms can eat one.

It won't be slowing you down with an X3D CPU, maybe 3-5% if that in some games or applications. I wouldn't be worrying about that for now as memory prices right now don't make an sense too. So unless you want to spend £300-400 updating to faster 32GB RAM for a couple of extra frames.

 
Worth overclocking these?
5200 kits can usually overclock decently well, especially gaming memory, but in the circumstances (lack of availability/terrible pricing of replacements) I wouldn't be touching them.

How much is this memory slowing me down compared to, for example, a set of 6000 with same timings?
What resolution/details are you using?

Assuming 4K, you'll be leaving a little performance on the table (noticeable mainly in the lows), but if you're comfortable that your gaming experience is good "as is" then I'd just leave it be.

Roger that, I'm playing at 4k in all games with settings highest in most games.

Did occur to me Ii shouldn't be fiddling with memory considering how incredibly stupid prices have gotten.

If I did, how much improvement in lows would I get with a moderate OC on the RAM e.g. 5600? A bit annoying the rest of my system is top notch, but the (normally) least expensive piece isn't. I bought the kit a bit as a mistake as I'd misread the speed when buying.

It depends on how much the CPU is bottlenecking in the game you're playing. I'd expect at least a few percent as Purgatory suggested.

Not worth bothering with in most games, especially if you're playing at high settings. For competitive online gaming it would have more meaningful impact on the framerate consistency, but even then, I wouldn't for 4K/max.

If you really want to know, I'd copy the profile from someone's 6000/C30 or C36 kit and see if you notice anything meaningful, but don't blame me if they go pop :p

Check the ICs on the DIMMs using Typhoon (I think it's called that, at least). Then find a higher clocked/better timed Corsair RAM with the same ICs, copy the frequency and timings, and presto.
