Hello, I like to think that I know how to go about overclocking and cooling etc.
To avoid the urge of upgrading, I feel like OC'ing my CPU a bit more if I can.

The PC is fine I dont NEED to upgrade. But you know how we all get that urge :p
The PC I have is in my sig if you would like to take a look.

Now I have currently got my CPU at 3.2ghz using 1.4v. I Have been on AMD's website and the max voltage for this CPU as stated on AMD's site is 1.4v.
If I OC any higher I start to get errors in Prime95.

My question is, even though it says that the max voltage is 1.4v. Can I go over this if the temps are good? At the moment on load I can keep the CPU under 50C. Also according to the AMD website the max temp is 63C

So do you think it would be a good idea to put some more volts in this baby and try to get some more juice out of it, if I can keep the load temps under 60C?

Also another quick question is. I have a 90nm chip and the max volts say 1.4v But the new PII are 45nm chips but can take up to 1.5v. I thought since the fab is smaller should it not have a lower max voltage?

Thanks

Plenty of people used to put 1.5v through their 90nm socket 939 CPUs in order to hit higher overclocks so you should be fine to do the same with your chip. It is weird that that the new Phenoms can take more volts like you say, especially when most people on here don't consider it to be a good idea to put more than 1.45v through a 45nm C2D chip.

Well I can understand people having different views on volts between Intel and AMD CPU's as they are different arcatechtures.

Thanks for the info on the 1.5v... anyone else have any opinions on it?
