How much latency is added using Wireless network ?

I have a PC and 360 in a separate room from my router (which is attached to a load of devices in the living room)

but I'm fed up with wires between the 2

how bad is the latency on Wireless vs Wired ?

and if Wireless -for gaming only -how much difference doesN make ?

Typically wireless will add less than 3ms latency - on mine its slightly less than 1ms (0.03x to 0.78x) using hrping.

However - on some setups you will get constant lag spikes with wireless and especially if someone else is sharing or overlapping the channel your wireless is on you will very likely see degraded performance and worse latency.
