Hey y'all.

I am just curious as to how much "load" a wall socket can take?

Currently, on 1 socket, I have:

my PC (in sig)
Monitor
HTPC
Xbox 360
HD PVR
External hard drive

I want to add another monitor but am worried that it might be to much for a single plug to take

What would the maximum be on a plug socket? I know it depends on the amperage etc but can some one give me a guesstimate on how many devices can be plugged in?

Cheers :)

If everything is plugged into a multi-way extension with a 13 Amp fuse the maximum would be 3KW (230V x 13 Amp).

I doubt what you have plugged in is any more than 1KW in total.

the standard only requiores them to take 13A total

which is about 3000 watts there abouts off the top of my head
and easy way to work this out is to add up the wattage of your appliances (things you have pluged in) and divide that by 230 this will give you your amps drawn
