Hi guys,

I'm going to host a summer BBQ for around 20 people in a few weeks. I've never cooked for that number of people so am trying to figure out how much meat I'll need. So far I'm planning on:

- 3Kg of beef short ribs (low and slow, to be served in buns with salad)
- 3Kg of pork shoulder (low and slow, pulled and served in buns with 'slaw)
- 3Kg of mince beef = 26(ish) 1/4lb burgers
- 20 sausages
- 1Kg of salmon (filleted into small pieces, smoked on a plank)
- Chicken pieces
- Coconut rice / fruit skewers for dessert

Plus all the usual salads and snacks.

How does the above sound? Is it too little, too much or about right? I don't want people to be going hungry!!

Thanks,

Seems like a decent amount of meat but I think I'd do some extra sausages. They're good to just snack on so having one each makes me think some people will miss out.

Excluding the sausages, salmon and chicken pieces that works out at around 1lb of meat per person which is plenty for most people but as Marvt74 says I'd probably stick some more sausages on because they can just be cooked and then people can snack on them later on.

Edit: Name change, morning caffeine no kicked in yet.
