HOW MUCH? OMG (SD card)

What do you use it for, if you don't mind me asking? I can't see any real use for it at the moment other than backing things up (for which 2GB would be massive overkill). Are you just being prepared for what may come?

And surely if transfer time is that slow it would be quicker just to re down load??

I store all my non game save data on it. Currently I have:

Photos of the family
2 virtual console games
Wii browser application

Edit: My card is pretty slow (well it was cheap) but I don't really see why it needs to be fast.

When I went into a high street retailer not long after launch to buy another controller the assistant tried to sell me a Wii SD card by saying "Zelda saves take up loads of memory!!!"

I promptly laughed whilst walking off with my new controller.

You've obviously never been in a camera shop either then.

I think you've been spoiled by internet prices.

My dad got a Canon digi cam for xmas and it takes SD cards and he went into a high street camera shop, I was telling him I could get a 512 SD card for 9 quid in bolton or off the internet.

The shop had a price tag of 29.99 for a 256MB and they knocked it down to 9.99 at the till, still expensive but people pay 29.99 for 256MB

High street shopping is its own downfall. Its disgusting.
