left abit no your other l
so i am planning on getting a second x2 for my rig at mo i am running only a 630w psu so i need more power if i want to run a second card.

also my rig:
8gb of ram 4x 2gb sticks
q66000 cpu

anything else you need to know?

:D
thanks for any help

cool so no need for an upgrade this will run my second x2 with out any problems??

At Cebit Enermax had their Modu 82+ demo'd powering a 2 x2 CrossfireX rig with the 625W model.

Whilst it's total 12V power rating is the same as the Corsair (600W) it's individual rails are rated a lot higher (25A vs 18A). It's certainly the route I'd go with such a rig...

Hello ic0n, have you overclocked your Intel Q6600 processor and how many hard drives are you using? :)

no havent overclocked it as i dont really know what i am doing lol and i dont really think i need to given the power of the q66000 stock along with my 8gb of ram.

also i am using 1hdd but plan to get another one at some point

I really dont think theres much point of 2 x2's with the cpu running at 2.4 ghz. Even with 1 x2 you're bottlenecked at 2.4ghz.

Hello ic0n, in that case then, as Craig321 and S_D have already stated, the Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU will be absolutely fine for your particular system. :)

2 3870X2 will draw 600w+ at full load, I wouldnt go lower than a high quality 800w supply.

Hello Smirnoff, are you referring to the entire system or just the ATI Radeon 3870 X2 pulling around 600 watts under load?

A single ATI Radeon 3870 X2 will consume close to 200 watts which equates to 17 amps. Two ATI Radeon 3870 X2 will equal to 34 amps. Now, to give some reassurance, an Intel Q6600 overclocked to around 3.3GHz will consume around 150 watts which equals to 13 amps. Add a couple of hard drives in rated at 1 amp each and then some for the extra head room, the above system is going to be pulling around 49 amps on the 12 volt rail.

Now, personally I wouldn't have any trouble running the above system on a power supply such as the Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU. However, I can understand some people wanting the extra head room and If I was going to recommend a power supply unit to run the above system, then it would be theCorsair TX 750W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU would be more than sufficient. :)
