Im currently planning to replace my GT220 which came with my HP6235UK desktop with mid size ATX HP case,People suggest that i will need to upgrade my exhisting 300w power supply, would like to target both around £300 but could go upto £400,How much power would I need,Ideally with a view to futureproof prehaps at some point i might consider more than one card ect, wouldnt want to get another supply again.Anyhelp please guys thanks

My System i5 8GB duel channel,640GB,2TB cavair blackHD

Thanks guys,Yeah its the mid size case which you prob see on display as you stroll through the likes of comet and pc world, would say its the standard size desktop its certainly not the midi lol,My stratergy is to once or twice a year upgrade something or other so at some point ill prob get a larger case, but wasnt going to upgrade the case until i need a third hard HD as me cage only fits 2,so for now im limited it measures from the outside height 38cm x width 17cm x depth (front to back) 40cm,so what best power i can get upto and graphics card, noting that some seem to be described as rather long which may or not be an issue, thanks guys

Wow that seems to be a bit of a monster, certainly does futureproof though hadnt seen that one before, one thing though im not clear on when running such large PSU"s fine for when me or me son re gaming which is predominatly the reason for upgrading, but when we are doing such labour intensive tasks such as farmville or browsing will i be draining enough power to run NASA or do they draw only the minimum power for the hardware you are using? realise I prob cant have it both ways,Power and ecomonmy, but there does have to be a bit of rational balancing.cheers
