I'm going to build a new PC. I had a look at a couple of power requirement calculators online but I've no way of checking how accurate they are.
My intended bits would be:
i5-2500K hopefully ~4.5GHz with a prudent voltage.
Radeon 7950 overclocked but also undervolted. Can't be using more than 192W (160 +20%) anyway.
2x8GB DDR3-1866
SSD
HDD
Optical drive, DVD RW etc.
4 120mm fans at the slower end (I'm after a quiet PC)
http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator gives ~450W under load and thus a PSU rated at least 500W. Does that sound right? Given that I want a quiet PC and thus don't want my PSU under much load, I might have to get a higher output PSU than I was intending to buy.
