How much power?

Buy a power meter and measure it yourself, it's really easy and they can be had from that blue shop for £7.

It is simply a case of measuring how much power your system uses under 100% CPU load (P95 for example) then measuring how much it uses under 100% CPU Load + 100% GPU Load (P95 + Furmark), you take the difference and you have a good idea of the kind of power your card is using, as well as how much you have left to play with until you reach your PSUs rating.

You need to find out efficiency of your PSU (You need to take the efficiency into account when working with these figures, as you're measuring input wattage, not output) is it 80+ certified?

Example:
We'll assume PSU is 80% efficient.
Power meter reads 250W at 100% CPU - 250*0.8= 200W.
Power meter reads 410W at 100% CPU+GPU - 410*0.8 = 328W.
328-200 = 128W for GPU, and you can assume that another card would be 328W + 128W = 456W.

These figures are completely fictional to demonstrate how easy it is, they are not suggestive of the power consumption of a 480. This is just a rough guide, so if the result is you need 690W and you have a 700W PSU, I probably wouldn't try it (There are considerations such as the 12V rail amperage etc.), but if the result is say 600W, then I'd go for trying it on a 700.
