How much RAM do I need?

I always have hardware monitoring up and have regularly seen more than 16GB used during gaming recently. I don’t have much running in the background either.

Any particular games? Mostly recent examples I recall seeing on the topic say a few games go over it, but not many, and usually not helped by people streaming/having discord etc open at the same time.
 
Lots of the CoD titles I’ve played recently (mostly the older titles), Outcast, Helldivers. Budget wasn’t an issue for my build though, so another 16Gb seemed to cover all bases for now. Not sure if 4K affects it or not.

When gaming with just a few firefox tabs open I regularly have 25gb to 30gb in use. When I upgrade to AM5 /9800X3D in January I think I will probably pick up 48gb DDR5 for a bit of future proofing (64gb is probably a waste and too expensive). Unfortunatley ram prices are expected to go through the roof coming months
