How much rest between exercise ?

I cycle on my commute and tend to take the weekend off. I'm usually pretty tired by Friday if I've been going for it. It was a lot worse when I first started though, and is a lot easier now. I can add in a bit of running as well as the cycling and just soak it up.

If you've just started and it's muscle pains, you'll stop getting them after about 2 weeks tops. After then it's just general fatigue by the end of the week because your muscles are used to being used. 20 miles a day is quite a lot though. If you're not doing it because you have to maybe think about dropping the distance or cycling more gently until you're used to it.

Its not always 20 depends on the mood im in, if im feel in the exploring mood i can cycle for miles, more often than not though it averages out at approx 9 miles a day of cross country cycling.
