How much room do you need for a decent VR experience?

Just a quick thread to ask for your experiences.

I am currently considering quest 2 with my main PC in study to power it through Wifi6, I believe the speed should be good enough, but was wondering for some of the more involved games like super hot, what kind of size room do you have?

Do you have problem banging in to furniture TV etc? I had an Oculus before and found hitting my hands on stuff a huge immersion breaker.

At least 1.5 x 1.5m, though 2m x 2m or more is recommended for active games (provided you're careful with the guardian boundaries)

You can get away with just standing room and the ability to move your arms about fully extended for games which don't require a lot of movement.

Best thing about the Quest is you can take it to large playspaces. You're not stuck in the same room as your PC.

Unless you've moved home or your arms have gotten shorter I don't see how this will have suddenly changed for you.

That does sound awesome!! Are you not worried about taking the Quest 2 "outside" ???? I heard it's dangerous out there.

Not only is it awesome, but it helps with trust in a relationship. If I haven't ****** Mrs.d off, she may give me a shout if I'm about to moon walk into a goal post.

I've played outside with my Quest. As long as the sun is not visible (I.e. behind trees or houses at dusk) then it's fine. Direct bright sunlight can burn the screens if they're exposed, but also drowns out the controller LED's so they won't track.

Best experience I had was in an empty office floor where I could max out the guardian.
