Hello

Before christmas i decided to go out and mod a case for the first time. Now my project is 95% complete. One of the things left to do is attach new rubber feet. I have an antec 900, i cut out a hole in the bottom of the case and put the power supply in so the air traveled from underneath the case, I currently have old DVD/games propping it up.

What amount of clearance do you think would be enough not to constrict the airflow?

About couple centimeters.

Also you'll better add air filter unless you want PSU to become clogged with dust.
(which will fast negate advantage of possibly slightly cooler air from outside the case and soon becomes problem)

i wouldnt worry about it much my fan has about 1cm from the bottom and theres no air hole for it just 2 120'c at the front theres never hot air coming out of it though

why the hole in the bottom of the case.?

i just poped the psu in upside down to have the psu fan facing up the way :p

Yeh that would be the proper way of fitting it. I was looking through some mods to the antec 900 and could see some people had done that so decided to give it a go.

I'll post some pics up before too long of the build. Im quite impressed with what i managed to achieve on my first go at modding a case, but i'll leave that for you lot to decide when i get the pics up.

1cm my foot:D more like 0cm. Id give it a inch, so it can pull a decent amount of air up into the psu. Or just flip over the psu.

Edit: of course there wont be any hot air coming out of the psu, if the psu hasn't enough clearance to pull air inside. All that will be happening is the components in the psu will be getting hotter and hotter... Use a bit of common sense please.
