Hi,

I'm looking to build a Video Editing PC, using Adobe Premiere, but I'll also occasionally game as well as general use.

My budget is about £600, including OS (Windows 10), and storage (1TB Hard drive and about a 128GB SSD). My question is; how much should I spend on my CPU, GPU, Motherboard etc.

I appreciate any response, thanks.

what will you be editing and at what res and what games?.

I'll be editing mostly .MOV files straight out of a DSLR, usually 1080P but it's possible I'll be editing 4K in a few years (though I may have a new pc by then). The games, just stuff like CS:GO, Far Cry 3, Some Simulators and Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Games.

At that budget if the primary use is editing and you only intend on playing cs go and pre 2016 games maybe just get a skylake i7 and use the integrated graphics for the best editing capability. It will be difficult to get a good editing cpu and gaming gpu at that price.

Would integrated graphics even be playable though for gaming? especially if I decide to play something more advanced.

Yes you can play games on it pretty well just on low settings which still looks good for the most part, Plus then you have the option later to upgrade to a highend gpu while still having a great cpu.

Okay thanks, that has reassured me quite a bit, and anyway; gaming is just entertainment, video editing is more important at the end of the day because it's almost a job and will be making me money soon. Thanks for your help, I'm not completely decided yet but it's likely I'll go with a sylake i7 now, cheers.

yh its the best thing i can think of right now but someone else might have a better idea but i doubt it also see if you can buy a second hand amd gpu like a 280 that would work with adobe premiere for gpu acceleration then you can get a lesser i5 cpu and better gaming experience.

Right okay yeah, I mean I think I'd be more interested in waiting and getting a higher end GPU like a GTX 960 or something. Anyways yeah; thanks for the help and to anyone else reading the thread: any other suggestions are welcome...
