Am moving house and that is the biggest I can get on my licence unfortunately.

I have a feeling they dont have too much space.

I moved house with a citreon berlingo work van lol, however I moved house in the same town.

about 15 trips If I remember :D

I think Lutons are usually rated to about 3.5 Tons depending on the engine. You can fit a fair bit of stuff in them. Last time I moved I had one and I think I did 3 trips but I wasn't loading it right up as I was only moving about 8 miles and wasn't pushed for time.

It depends how much big stuff you've got - if you have lots of big sideboards or wardrobes etc you'll soon fill one.

Thanks all.

It is only a local move so making 2 trips isnt a big problem.

Biggest items are 2 sofas.

Bed and wardrobe will "flat-pack".

We used to have one for work, was battered as hell but just took whatever you threw at it, unfortunately the engine eventually gave up the ghost and it was never right after that. Ended up selling it to a traveller who ripped us off (no comment)

Anyway, you can get a fair bit in those if you pack them right, looks like its got a lift too, which is a god send. Should be able to get two sofas in and a load of other stuff on top too.

can you not drive the bigger vans (the size of bread delivery vans) on an ordinary licence? they are true 3.5 ton and you should get most of a house in there

unfortunatly for some (if you recently got your licence) last 3 years iirc
it's not an automatic intitlement to have 3.5 tonners on the licence.

bullit

I helped my mate move 150 miles using a van just like that. We got everything in and did one trip. Sofa + 2 chairs, bed, desks, TVs, aswell as all their normal stuff in boxes.

I'd say you'll be fine :)

I got my license just over 2 years ago and I can drive vehicles with a mass of 3,500kg. I can't, however, drive anything over that :)

we got our house in moved in 3 loads in one of those... like 2-3 weeks ago aswel...

You can get lots in.

But make sure all the small stuff is boxed really carefully, so you can stack other boxes on top of it without worrying.

Oh and get some old blankets to product you furniture when you stack it and some staps to hold stuff in.

Hope the move goes well.
