Hi

I'm thinking of reconnecting my BT line, wondering how much it is to reconnect?

I checked the website and I fall in the category of "don't have telephone service but have BT line".

I currently have two master phone sockets in the flat, 1 is the Bulldog/Pipex and the other is inactive BT socket. If I wanted to activate the inactive BT socket, BT engineer must do home visit?

thanks.

I'm moving my phone back to BT from Virgin. It's been around 6 years or so since I was on BT and they told me that it will cost £124.99 for reconnection.

However I need to move back so I will be able to go to ADSL for broadband if needed (my Virgin 20Mb service is a joke).

When BT checks remotely can they see which line is inactive or BT engineer have to home visit?

btw I'm thinking of moving to Be*. Went to friends yesterday and was amazed with the speed (18mbit). I know I can upgrade to 16mbit with Bulldog but then I'm stuck for a year.

Going to join Bethere and started the process of moving my Bulldog line to BT (Return To Donor). In order to RTD I can't cancel my Bulldog Service, does that mean I have to cancell my Internet Service after switching back to BT telephone service? Also will my Internet even work because the only way you could get 8/16mbit with bulldog was to have telephone + internet, so with telephone switching to BT how will I recieve my internet service from Bulldog before I join BeThere?

I've just moved into a new flat and there is a BT line and we get a dial tone. my girlfriend phoned BT to get the line activated and they said it would cost £125! Shouldn't it be free??

It could be possible there has been a telephone service other than BT active or has been active on the line.

I remember getting charged a lot of money to have a line re-enabled that was on a BT line but routed via Tiscali.

You won't. When the line gets disconnected to be moved back to BT, your internet connection will stop working - you should be able to cancel Bulldog though...

Ha bulldog sure as hell bit me in the ass, when I phoned them to find out how to
get shot of them because of the price of the service so after some haggling I
managed to get a reduction of £20 a month so I just pay £25 for 16meg and phone all calls starting with 01 or 02 are free, covers GB.
All this just to keep me with them.

cheers
Dean
