How much to replace this fence?

We moved into a house where the previous owners had painted the fence green which is really not our taste.

We've had a quick test at staining it grey and that sort of works but it's actually not in great condition anyway so we're pondering having it all renewed.

How much to you reckon to replace the lot with basically the same only new, nothing fancy?

As a idea, in the north I just paid £31 per meter for a 6ft closed gap board fence.

Timber is quite expensive.

I suspect it's about 12m maybe a bit more so on that basis we'd be talking somewhere between £500 and £1000 with labour etc?

Obviously there's quite a lot of it that isn't normal panels which is likely to cost more I guess?

The panels are normally the cheaper way of doing it but they don’t last well in my experience. Your green fence is how I got mine done. The price I paid was fully fitted, budget more for the south though.

I’d get a couple companies in to quote.

I paid recently £700 incl. VAT for supply and installation of 28 ft of fencing.
Concrete posts and gravel boards with closeboard (featheredge) panels. They took away and disposed of the old fence as well. South-East.

Very interesting thanks.

Also if anyone fancies making suggestions for anyone who could quote for this with us being based in Salisbury would be cool.

Yeah I'll be honest I don't see that being a big challenge, the fence is rotten and a lot of the property is MOD round here, don't see much pushback
