8GB would be plenty for me as well. Even if I go back to 4K, I would still say 8GB would be fine.

Cheers Setter, I asked for less than 2GB - 2GB - 4GB - 8GB - more than 8GB, so if 6GB could be added as well (I missed that :o) that would be cool :)

How much VRAM would you want on your next GPU?

Pretty obvious which way this was going to go. People will always want more than what they currently have whether they need it or not.

Well I would have been happy if the TX had 6GB in truth but it is nice to have a little future proofing in the VRAM department, that way you can throw more cards at it without worrying about hitting the VRAM limit.

Pretty much "want on your next purchase" is how I intended it. For reference, I voted for 6GB, purely on the basis of what I feel I will need over the next year or so. If it comes with more, a bonus but if it comes with less, meh! But I would want 6GB ideally as a minimum.

I tried to keep it simple :D

Personally I see 8 as a good amount for the ‘non-titan enthusiast’, a single £500 – 600 card should have enough grunt to at least make use of 8gb by itself and in sli/crossfire enough vram to cope with the higher resolutions the extra processing power should let you reach.

Which is exactly the sort of card I am looking for and sort of what I wanted the 980 to be from the start.

I was tempted to jump on a couple of 980s but the 4GB was a non starter for me and grabbed another Titan in place of. Very fast cards but I would feel slightly limited on resolution choices.
