How much will wii's sell for?

I will edit my original response so that it doesnt contain 12 lines of stars.

At all the people who preordered more than one for the intention of selling on and causing my preorder to be delayed

Well, that's all i can do, the rest is too insulting.

I dont have a problem with anyone selling stuff for a huge profit. I couldn't get and wanted a 360 at launch. But I'm not so impatient that I wanted to blow half my income on one. It took til feb before I found one in a shop.

If everyone had patience then it wouldnt happen.

But they don't so good luck to the sellers picking off the idiots who can't wait a few weeks.

Of course, if these people hadn't been pre-ordering them just to sell in the first place, you may have had much more of a chance actually getting one.

People who do stuff like this just before Christmas, when their target audience will be parents who missed out on an order for their kid, are really just pathetic. Give the people who want them a chance to buy them in the first place, rather than removing the supply and over-charging.

This is the best time of the year to do it from a seller's point of view. It's just capitalism and market forces at work. Do you oppose those principles or just when it comes to games consoles? ;)

I don't care whether it's games consoles or not. People who buy to sell second hand at a rediculously over-inflated rate, really suck. Stores can't sell beyond the RRP, so I don't have a problem with that.

So if you had something to sell, you would happily sell it for far less than people were willing to pay?

i set all starting bids to 99p, so its upto the bidder on how much they want to pay.

I wouldn't have ordered something that I know will be in short supply, with an intention only to sell.

So i guess what I'm doing is ok by your ruling then. When i first pre-ordered i made sure i got in there straight away and two popular sites as I had every intention of purchasing a wii for myself, mainly due to the virtual console and zelda.

Then after a few weeks I realised the virtual console's titles listed for release don't really interest me (if there were more n64 titles i'd definately be buying one), and i'd rather play zelda on the GC with a normal controller.

So no, i didn't originally order them with the intention of selling them.

So why didn't you cancel the order?

because after noticing the potential for a bit of profit i'm selling them. My eagerness to make sure I had a 360 on launch last year meant two turned up at my door, and the one I sold made me £200, so why wouldn't i want to do it again?

Anyone would think its a crime to sell something these days.

I take it you don't buy DVD's and games?

On physical value you realise these are only worth a few quid, but i'm sure you pay £10-£40 on them quite regularly.

What on earth are you on about?

One day I hope to be wealthy enough to be able to afford such lofty principles!

The poster said she doesn't like people who have the intention to sell things at over-inflated prices. I was just pointing out that its likely she fills the pockets of these types of people quite regularly.

Actually, I never buy dvds brand new, as they're not worth it, but that has nothing to do with it. That is the choice of the distributor, not some random person who wants to take them out of the chain.

looks like they are now going for £300 -£350....hopefully they will hit £400 in the next few days.

yeh blimey, gone up a good ~£50 in the last 24hours. It's so tempting to list it now rather than risking it and waiting till launch day!
