..to this...my newer build?

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz
OCZ Reaper Low-Latency 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 12800C6 (1600MHz) Dual-Channel
Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) microATX DDR3 Motherboard
x 2 - Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ)

Baring in mind im mostly using Photoshop InDesign Quark and some Music Production programmes.

Just curious would I see a real world difference on this machine, as I am currently using a 32Bit version.

Thanks.

At home im not doing anything so fast that it would require much more, tho layers can stack up with running effects to the process.

So masically it would be worth it?, and if so what version, its just a single stand alone Comp, like the Aero effect tho, is that still only available in certain versions and up?

If you have the 32bit one legitimately you can just reformat and install with the 64bit version.

If you do a lot of work with Photoshop and the like, an SSD would be invaluable. I believe PS, for example, creates a scratch file. Faster the storage, faster the PS performance. The system as a whole will also be much nicer to use!

Were I the one needing an upgrade, I would try and go for 6GB RAM if not an SSD.

The advantage of 64bit is you will be able to use all 4GB+ of RAM. 32-bit will only let you use around 3.5-3.75 GB - depending on the hardware you have.

So really for a real world speed increase I should go with an ssd drive, then when the time comes to get more ram ( more won't fit as it's a micro case!) then go for 64bit at the same time?

However, this is where my knowledge on windows is hazy at best, I assume the best thing is to install win onto the SSd and my programmes too, but, this means having to do a fresh reinstall for everything and the micro case only has two proper slots for drives!

Actually i might have space to the front for a drive, I assume they are the same width as standard Hhds? Also money wise it can't be too much!
